A popular online game known as Roblox: Powering Imagination has been found to have malware and spyware viruses in the downloadable client and the mobile application.
It is said that the client makes copies of the user's files and installs a trojan into them, then replaces the original files with the harmed copies. As for the mobile app it hijacks the user's Google account and uses the information to threaten the user for the app's online currency Robux.
It is said the user who had hijacked the client and mobile app lives in US, California and is being tracked down by authorities.
"We are sorry this is happening to Roblox, we will try to fix it as fast as we can." David Baszucki says, "We do not wish for our users to experience threats through our app, please be patient while we fix this."
Users on Downdetector have been really upset lately as of the Malware they have been getting.
"It keeps asking me for Robux! It says it has all my info..." said user uunicorngirl0981 on a conversation in https://downdetector.com/status/roblox . "idk what's happening!! my client is acting all weird today! and my screenshots wont open..." also said user qwqguuestperson1 .
We have found many other conversations between users, them being worried and sad about what has happened to the roblox app. Roblox Employees are also unable to do their work because of constant reports about the malware.
Please be patient while Roblox employees fix this big problem. See https://roblox.com/blog for more information.
